Background: The FedEx Champ Car World Series was an exciting international event, consisting of 20 auto races on four different continents, including Asia and Australia. From celebrity drivers to faithful fans, and including everyone in between — team owners, series and team sponsors, safety teams — many people of all types had a part in making this series a success.

Challenge: Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART), the entity that managed the series, needed a speedy, effective way to communicate with all of the varied entities who made up CART’s key audiences. Each had a different level of involvement in the series, but they all needed up-to-the-minute information.

Solution: IQ conceived and created a comprehensive extranet site that was capable of providing secure, individualized access to real-time data, based on which of these key audiences the person utilizing the site belonged to. We developed a total information-sharing solution that streamlined the communications for the entire operation and allowed all users to access the information they needed quickly and efficiently.

Results: Providing a one-stop shopping source for information on the FedEx Champ Car World Series dramatically simplified the operational energy and resources that CART had to devote to meeting its critical communications accountabilities.

Whether a site user was a world-famous race car driver looking for time-trial results or a groupie wanting to know when and where to get an autograph, key audience members were able to obtain the specific information they needed, in a timely fashion, in a secure environment.
